Technician Electrical Dewatering | Iron Ore | Jimblebar | FIFO 8/6

Position

Reporting to the Supervisor Water Infrastructure, within the Mobile Maintenance Department your duties will include:

• An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development;
• Maintenance to electrical equipment which include, Generators, OH Power Lines, PLC, SCADA, Variable Speed Drives, as well as Telemetry systems.
• Monitor the condition of the Dewatering equipment by such means as: inspections; reviewing backlogs; KPI's; and delays to ensure it is capable to achieve water movements in line with the Mine Plan.
• Ensure area tooling and equipment required for Dewatering works are in working condition;
• Accurate completion of technical documentation and reports as required;
• Use of computerised maintenance systems (SAP); and
• Take a proactive role in setting and maintaining standards of appropriate behaviour.

Skills and Experience

As the successful candidate you will possess the following:

• Electrical trade qualification, with at least 5 years post qualification experience.
• Electrical In-house nominee's certificate. (Requirement)
• Experience with power generation, PLC and SCADA systems, bore fields, water pumps and various civil earthmoving equipment will be looked upon favourably; and
• A Minimum of C class manual driver's licence.

Preferred qualifications include:

• HR drivers licence;
• Experience with SAP maintenance system.
• Forklift Licence;
• EWP, Working at Heights; and
• CV (Hiab), CN (Non Slewing Crane), Dogman tickets.

Location

You will be based at our new 'Jimblebar' mine site on a fly-in fly-out 8/6 roster. Jimblebar is the first Greenfield mine in over 40 years to be both developed and operated by BHP Billiton Iron Ore and is located 40kms North East of Newman, Western Australia. The outstanding facilities at the brand new FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, golf driving nets, outdoor cinema, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court; beach volleyball court, games room and TV lounge. All rooms at the village have access to 3G wireless internet and Skype, an ensuite bathroom, flat screen television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
